Thoughts about wikis

I have had a look book lovers wiki posted by Princeton Public Library. I found it informative and especially loved the book lists. I also had a look at Library success: a best practices wiki. I like the idea of using wikis instead of many emails. There were lots of ideas here.

Pass it on

Matthew has given me a lesson and run through about facebook. It was a short 10 minute lesson but is getting me used to using it. The lesson is documented in Word and saved in my documents.

Pioneer page

Just wanted to say I have enjoyed looking at the entries on the pioneer/skills page.

Ning

I have not started an account with Ning as others in my group are saying there is now a charge for this. At the moment I am pressing on with the social networking module and it has been quite fun.

Facebook

Have started a Facebook account and they were very straight forward instructions. I have also added my son, Matthew, as my first friend but will have to wait for him confirm. Moving on.

flickr image

I used one of my daughter Celia's images for my task. I found it quite easy once I knew what to do however there seemed to be a copyright (spaceball) problem with the original lion cub image I wanted to use.

Thoughts on NZ2.0

A lot of reading in this module. I thought Matapihi looked good. I also liked NZLive and the way it was set up. A lot of info happening in the coming months.

Testing times

I have had a slow start this morning. Justine has been a terrific help. I am just adding a little here and will try and work away at this.
I feel I did not have a handle on what I was actually having to do but things may become a little more clear soon.

Morning glory

Hi everyone, this morning was a brilliant sunrise. I fed the cats and had breakfast and watched a little television. I was interested to see an interview with the author Lionel Shriver. I haven't read any of her books but her latest book sounds very interesting. Grim though and I have been disappointed with the fiction I have been reading recently. I think I will stick to non fiction for awhile.
I have the latest Carters antique guide and a book by the son of one of the Hamas leaders which is interesting and a different view point.
I had a pleasant drive into town, the traffic wasn't too bad. There was some confusion as to which training room we should be in but we soon had it all sorted and with a coffee on board we got started on our first CCL session. Initially there was some problem with the computers but it was soon sorted.
